The BL Nook

Six years ago

“Hey man, you’re in my microeconomics theory class, right? I’m Josh. Nice to meet you.”

“Hey, what’s up? I’m Tyler…”

I spotted him in the library, sitting there all serious with his laptop. In class, he’s the guy who never talks, always looks like he’s solving the mysteries of the universe or something. He’s shorter than me, but he walks around like he owns the place. Real confident dude. Kinda intimidating, if I’m being honest. Slick black hair, not a single strand out of place. Pale as a ghost, icy blue eyes, clean-shaven baby face. He always looked like he had his life way too together for someone our age.

Still, I figured I’d say hi. I’m not the type to sit around wondering what someone’s like. I go find out.

“You look young to be in grad school.”

“Yeah, I just finished my bachelor’s and jumped into the program this semester.”

“No way, same here! How old are you?”

“Twenty.”

“For real? Me too!”

…Okay, I might’ve been a little too loud. People were staring. I leaned in and whispered, “Sorry,” then kept going like nothing happened.

“You seem smart. We should study together sometime. Might help me out having a genius on my side.”

He smirked. “You’re not so bad yourself. Actually… we have more than one class together.”

“Wait, really? Which ones?”

“All of them.”

“Damn. Guess I’ve been in my own little world. My bad.”

“It’s alright. You’re kind of hard to miss in class.”

“Haha sorry, I know I can be loud.” I rubbed the back of my neck, a little embarrassed.

“As long as you’re not loud during study sessions, I’m good.”

“Deal!”

Someone shushed us and I laughed. Tyler just shook his head, trying not to smile.

After that, we met up to study twice a week. Swapped numbers right there in the library. Pretty soon, it wasn’t just study sessions. We were getting lunch every day, hanging out in between classes. Tyler and I were opposites, but somehow, we just clicked.

Back then, I was still with my high school sweetheart, Cece. We’d been together for four years. She was in nursing school, going to a different campus. Our schedules didn’t line up much, and we started drifting. I was 30 pounds heavier then, Cece called me her big teddy bear. I didn’t mind. I had her, I was happy, I wasn’t trying to impress anyone.

But she kept herself looking good. Gym every night, while I crushed burgers and energy drinks like it was nothing.

Then she cheated.

I found out through a dude I knew from high school. Sent me a picture of her kissing some guy, sitting on his lap at a party. She said she was studying for a test that night. Yeah, right.

I called Tyler. Didn’t know what else to do.

He showed up at my dorm with two beers.

“Where’d you get these?”

“I have my ways.”

“Why only two, though?”

“That’s all I had! You want it or not?”

Sniff Yeah… I’ll drink it.”

We sat on the floor. I drank. I cried. I told him everything. He didn’t say much, just sat there and let me fall apart. That night locked in our friendship. From then on, the time I used to give Cece became time with Tyler. We were tight.

We even celebrated our 21st birthdays together. His was in June, mine in November. We crushed grad school in two years, got into the same MBA program. We swore off dating, but that didn’t mean we weren’t getting laid. I got back on the horse pretty quick, even if the first time felt a little weird after Cece.

I still didn’t give a damn about my weight. I hid my insecurities behind my loud mouth and walked around like I owned it. It worked. The MBA program kept me busy enough to avoid dealing with my health.

Then I fainted in class.

Scared the crap out of Tyler. Next thing I know, he’s dragging me to a doctor.

Turns out, I had type two diabetes and high blood pressure.

That was a wake-up call.

We were in our final year, and suddenly everything had to change. Diet, exercise, the whole nine. Tyler was right there with me. Dragging me to the gym, skipping drinks, cooking boring-ass healthy meals. He said if he changed his habits too, it’d make it easier for me. I don’t think I’ve ever been more grateful to anyone in my life.

By graduation, I looked like a whole new person.

“Your family coming to the ceremony?”

“Yeah. Just my dad.”

“What about your brother?”

“I didn’t invite him.”

He’d mentioned once or twice that his mom passed away, and that he wasn’t close with his brother. Never gave details, and I didn’t push. Tyler’s private. I respect that. Still, I wished I knew more. He knew everything about me by now.

After graduation, we didn’t hang out as much, but we kept in touch. Calls, texts, meetups when we could. I got a job in downtown. Big company. Big pay. But after a year, I left to start a company with some buddies. CFO status, baby. Life was good. Diabetes went into remission. Love life was casual. Hookups, nothing serious.

I met up with Tyler for lunch, we did our usual chit-chat when he said this:

“My brother’s moving to Seattle.”

I was like, “That’s cool. You don’t sound thrilled.”

He wasn’t. Said they hadn’t talked much in years, and now his brother needed help moving. He said it was the worst timing, since he was busy with work. Being the amazing friend that I am, I offered to take care of it for him. Get the guy a job, help him find a place, easy stuff.

Tyler hesitated, but eventually agreed.

Then I said, “You’ve never shown me a picture of him.”

He acted all suspicious about it, but eventually caved. He looked through his phone for what seemed like forever. Then showed me a post from social media.

And. Holy. Shit.

He was standing in front of a mirror, lifting his shirt halfway up to show off his body. My eyes locked in instantly.

His skin. God, his skin was milky white and looked so smooth, like porcelain, no visible blemishes or body hair anywhere. Not even a trail. His abs were cut but not bulky, like a perfectly chiseled lean six-pack. His muscles were smaller than mine, but defined in a way that made my throat tighten. He had this toned, swimmer’s kind of build. Tight, lean, clean.

His arm was raised, flexing just enough to tease the shape of his biceps. They weren’t huge, but damn, they were solid. His blonde hair was a bit messy, kind of that effortless look, and it framed his face perfectly. And those eyes. Light blue, like the ocean on a cloudless day. I swear, they practically glowed. His lips were curled into the kind of smile that could punch you right in the chest. Bright, confident, playful.

He was clearly shorter than me, maybe about 6’1”, but that just made him even more my type. Compact, lean, ridiculously attractive. I couldn’t stop staring.

My dick throbbed.

I scanned the picture again and again, and the more I looked, the more I liked it. I liked it a lot. I didn’t just think he was hot. I wanted him. And that realization hit me so hard I almost forgot how to breathe. Before I could take one last look at his username, Tyler snatched the phone from my hands.

“So that’s him,” Tyler said. “He’s a gym rat like you. You guys would probably get along.”

“Ahem, Is his name Sean?”

“Yup. He’s a mean piece of shit, so you won’t be seeing much of him.”

I laughed. “Now I really want to meet him.”

“I’m serious. Just do what you need to do to help him move and that’s it.”

“Alright, alright. Send his info and I’ll handle it.”

He nodded.

But I couldn’t stop thinking about that picture. Or the way my body reacted. Or the fact that I’d never, ever looked at a guy that way before.

What the hell does this mean?

Guess I’m about to find out.

I’m intrigued by this new development. I’m not one to shy away from trying new things. The first thing I did after lunch with Tyler was grab my laptop. I logged on to my go-to porn site and clicked on the gay section. I was buzzing with anticipation, curious about this whole new side of me.

I played the first video that popped up but… it wasn’t doing it for me. I searched for muscle men, since I had gotten hard just looking at Sean’s body. Still nothing. I kept trying: twinks, straight guys, white guys… Nada. The videos were educational, sure, but they didn’t turn me on. After a while, I gave up on my little quest.

I closed the laptop and pulled out my phone. I typed in his username, yep, I memorized it. His profile came up instantly. Luckily, it wasn’t private. I stared at the same picture Tyler had shown me earlier.

Man… what is it about this guy that I like so much?

I scrolled through his posts and found a video of him lifting weights, squatting repeatedly with perfect form. His ass was unreal. You could see the crease between his cheeks every time he went down, and his smooth thighs trembled just a little on the way back up. I let out a soft “Mmm…” I was hard.

I slowly slid my hand into my pants and pulled out my dick.

I watched that video on loop, imagining myself bending him over in front of the gym mirrors. Thrusting, fast and deep. I didn’t even know what his voice sounded like, but I imagined him moaning, begging for more. “Fuck…” I bet his ass is soft and warm. “Ngh… ha… shit… hahaha.”

I can’t believe I just jerked off to Tyler’s brother. I’m a horrible friend.

After that day, I started checking his page regularly. I looked for new posts, kept tabs on what he was doing. I even focused on getting him here sooner. I needed to meet him already. Tyler sent me his resume, and it looked like Sean was mostly into social media management. I googled nearby advertising agencies, and one just so happened to be next door to my place.

I walked in and asked to speak with the director. I spun some story about launching a marketing campaign through my company and suggested hiring my “friend.” The director agreed, on the condition that Sean would work at their other branch nearby. They scheduled an interview, and things were set in motion.

Yes! Job? Done. Now, a place to live.

It wasn’t hard. I found an affordable apartment within walking distance of the job and only fifteen minutes from me. I toured the place, sent Tyler some pics, and forwarded the lease. Sean signed it. Even his signature is cute. I scheduled the moving truck under Tyler’s name and made all the arrangements.

He was finally coming. I just had to be patient until Tyler introduced us…

I’d love to hear your thoughts!
